August Darnell (b. 1950, Montreal), and his brother Sonny Browder Jr., formed Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band in the Bronx in the 70s; Browder playing guitar while Darnell played bass and sang backup, both collaborating on songwriting. The brothers recruited Cory Daye and released the band's self-tittled LP in 1976 on RCA. It's certainly one of the '5 albums I'd take with me to a deserted island' (good luck trying to get me to go to a deserted island with just five records), and from where the original, unedited version of "Sunshower" is taken.
